5 local restaurants serve up tastes of the Mediterranean

Forget Atkins and South Beach, Weight Watchers and the Zone. The latest way to eat creatively is the Latitude Diet©, recently devised by yours truly. Geared toward those who dine out frequently, it's amazingly easy to follow: You just restrict your intake to cuisines originating within 10° of your current location.

Think about it. If you're in Florida, you don't want to follow a menu designed to fuel Alaskans through their perpetual winter. And if you're in Tucson, especially in summer, it makes sense to focus on dishes from other toasty places straddling the 32nd parallel-say, the southern European and Middle Eastern countries on the Mediterranean.

To help illustrate this concept, I've selected a few local restaurants that fit the latitude requirements and-key to sticking with the diet-serve great food in an appealing atmosphere.
